Unstepping the mast of a boat going into winter storage both extends rig life and is the only real chance for thorough maintenance: wire terminations, the mast step, cable runs and the inside of the profile can only be checked properly once the mast is down.
The operation requires experience: labelling every connection, separating electrics correctly and choosing the right lifting points. Our team works hand in hand with the crane operators of the Marmaris marinas; the mast is stored horizontally on proper supports over winter and re-stepped and tuned at season start.
